THE SCANNER

What is the INBODY 970S?

Research-grade precision. The most advanced body composition scanner commercially available.

The InBody 970S is a medical-grade bioelectrical impedance analysis device that measures body composition with research-grade precision. It goes significantly beyond what a standard scale or even most body composition devices can tell you.

A Standard Scan measures total body weight, skeletal muscle mass with full segmental analysis, total body fat, percent body fat, total body water, intracellular and extracellular water, and visceral fat level. A printed results sheet is included with every scan.

A Comprehensive Scan adds

  • Bone mineral density, clinically relevant for patients monitoring osteopenia, osteoporosis risk, or bone health protocols

  • Phase angle, a direct measure of cellular health and membrane integrity used in research settings as a marker of nutritional status and overall resilience

  • The ECW/TBW ratio, an inflammation marker based on fluid distribution patterns.

The InBody 970S is the only scanner of its type in Lincoln. For patients monitoring bone health, body composition during a metabolic or weight loss program, or cellular health as part of a functional medicine protocol, there is no comparable tool available elsewhere in the area.

The scale isn't telling you enough

Your weight stays the same but your body feels different. Or you're losing weight but not seeing the changes you expected. The scale doesn't tell you what's actually changing inside your body.

clinical_notes

You're working hard without clear results

You're training consistently, eating well, and still not seeing the body composition changes you're working toward. The missing piece is usually data, specifically, knowing what's actually happening with your muscle, fat, and metabolic markers.

You need a clinical baseline

You're starting a new program, a functional medicine protocol, or a GLP-1 medication and you need accurate baseline data to track what's actually changing over time.

INBODY SCANNING can help you

Medical or fitness device with a digital screen, two handlebars, and a platform for standing, labeled InBody 270.
  • Understand your true body composition beyond what any scale can show

  • Track muscle preservation accurately during weight loss or GLP-1 protocols

  • Identify visceral fat levels before they become a downstream health problem

  • Monitor bone mineral density without the cost of a DEXA scan

  • Get a precise clinical baseline before starting a fitness or nutrition program

  • Translate your scan results into a clear action plan with Michelle's interpretation session

A scan without interpretation is just numbers. The InBody 970S produces data that changes outcomes, but only when you know what to do with it.

Did you know…

Standard Scales Miss the Point

A scale measures total weight. The InBody 970S measures muscle, fat, water, bone density, and cellular health separately, giving you a complete picture that weight alone can never provide.

Visceral Fat Is the Dangerous Kind

Visceral fat surrounds your organs and drives cardiovascular and metabolic disease risk. It doesn't show up in standard weight measurements. The InBody 970S measures it directly.

GLP-1 Medications Need Monitoring

GLP-1 medications cause both fat and muscle loss. Without accurate body composition tracking you have no way of knowing how much muscle you're losing. The InBody 970S is the most precise tool available for monitoring this.

Phase Angle Measures Cellular Health

Phase angle is a marker of cellular membrane integrity and nutritional status used in research and clinical settings. It's only available on the InBody 970S comprehensive scan and only measurable on a device of this caliber.

Meet your InBody interpreter

I'm Michelle Schrock, CPT, SPS, Mederi's certified personal trainer and integrated health practitioner. I'm the primary interpreter of Mederi's InBody 970S results.

After your scan I walk through every number with you in the context of your goals: muscle mass, fat distribution, water balance, bone density, and cellular health markers. I connect your scan results to your workout approach, your nutrition, and if you're a Mederi patient, your functional medicine lab picture.

The interpretation session is the bridge between knowing and doing. It's also the most common entry point to my coaching programs.

Interpretation sessions are available starting June 15. Join the waitlist to be notified when scheduling opens.

Do I need a DPC membership to book a scan?

No. InBody scanning is available to everyone. DPC members receive preferred pricing. No membership or referral required.

What is the difference between the standard and comprehensive scan?

The standard scan covers the core body composition metrics: muscle mass, body fat, water balance, and visceral fat. The comprehensive scan adds bone mineral density, phase angle, and the ECW/TBW ratio. If you're monitoring bone health or want the most complete picture available, the comprehensive scan is worth the additional cost.

How often should I scan?

For most patients tracking a fitness or nutrition program, scanning every 8 to 12 weeks gives enough time for meaningful changes to show up in the data. For bone health monitoring, quarterly scans through the Bone Mineralization Program provide the most useful tracking data.

What is the interpretation session and who runs it?

The interpretation session is a 30-minute review of your scan results with Michelle Schrock, CPT, SPS. She walks through every metric in the context of your goals and tells you exactly what to do with the data. Available as a $20 add-on to any scan. Scheduling opens June 15.

Can my InBody results be used in my functional medicine program?

Yes. For Mederi DPC members in functional medicine programs, InBody results are integrated directly into Renee's clinical assessment. Your body composition data becomes part of your overall clinical picture.
